Delete your personal data

How to request deletion

• Email privacy@ortix.com: from the address registered to your account, with the subject line "Data deletion request".
• Include your full name: and the email or phone number linked to your Ortix account so we can locate it.
• Verify your identity: if asked. This prevents unauthorized deletion of your data.
• Note that some data can't be deleted immediately: if it's tied to an open balance, pending transactions, or an active card.
• We confirm and process: your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.

What happens to your data

When your request is processed, we delete or anonymize the personal information tied to your account, except where the law requires us to keep it.

• Deleted: App usage and technical data (device information, analytics, session logs); marketing preferences and communications consent records; in-app messages and shared-spend data not tied to a transaction record.
• Retained for a limited period: Identification data (name, date of birth, government ID details), contact information, and financial or transaction records are retained for a minimum of 5 years under FINTRAC's anti-money laundering rules. KYC/AML information, including source of funds or wealth and PEP status, is retained for the same period for regulatory and audit purposes. Customer support communications may be retained for dispute resolution and compliance purposes for the same period.

After the retention period expires, this information is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymized. Some information may be kept longer where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or where required by a court, regulator, or law enforcement request.
